Merrimack’s Annual Holiday Parade
The Annual Holiday Parade steps off that Sunday at 3 PM at the Commons Shopping Plaza (515 Daniel Webster Highway), just a few minutes south of The Residences at Daniel Webster. The float-stacked procession moves along Daniel Webster Highway to Baboosic Lake Road, swings a left off that at McElwain Street, and finishes up in front of Abbie Griffin Park at the Town Hall parking lot.
Expect heavy-duty holiday cheer along the full parade route, and a glimpse among the paraders and floats of none other than Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus.
If you’ve got little ones by your side while you’re staying with us here at The Residences at Daniel Webster, by the way, you might want to get a jump-start on the Annual Holiday Parade by attending the Candy Cane Hunt in Twin Bridge Park beforehand. Ages 4 and under hunt at 2 PM, followed up at 2:15 by ages 5 to 10. You can register your kids for the Candy Cane Hunt right here.
The Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony
Merrimack’s Christmas Tree Lighting gets underway at the conclusion of the parade at Abbie Griffin Park, where you’ll enjoy DJ tunes while everyone waits for Mr. and Mrs. Claus to arrive. Other performances include Broadway Bound’s “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree,” the Merrimack High School Marching Band, and a rendition of “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year” delivered by Miss Merrimack.
Santa will lead the assembled gaggle in a count-down for the Christmas Tree Lighting: a magical way to inaugurate the yuletide stretch of the calendar. Meanwhile Mrs. Claus will read “’Twas the Night Before Christmas” for children clustered around the park bandstand. The North Pole’s “First Couple” will also be taking pictures with kids.
